On May 16, 2019, Prof. William Duffy, President of the University of Upper Iowa from the United States and two other members visited our university. Mr. Meng Shuo, Deputy Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs of Municipal People's Government of Shijiazhuang, accompanied the delegation. Prof. Dr. Dong Zhaowei, Secretary of Party Committee of our University, and Prof. Dr. Liu Bing, President of our University, met with the delegation. Prof. Dr. Chen Liang, member of the Standing Committee of the Party, had a discussion with the delegation in the reception room of foreign guests. The leaders in charge of the Office of Foreign Affairs, the School of Public Administration, the School of Finance and the School of Business Administration participated in the meeting.

Both sides exchanged extensive opinions on the advanced disciplines, school-running characteristics and international cooperation between the two universities, and reached a preliminary consensus on cooperation in areas such as student exchange and teacher-student visits.

The representatives signed the “Memorandum of Understanding between Hebei University of Economics and Business and University of Upper Iowa”, which laid a broader, deeper and longer foundation for future cooperation in various fields, such as academic exchanges and discipline construction.
