"SING! China" in Nepal hosted by the Confucius Institute at Kathmandu University

On December 1, 2016, the final of "SING! China" in Nepal hosted by the Confucius Institute at Kathmandu University was grandly held and over 100 participants, including Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Yu Hong, Director of Cultural Office Zhang Bing, Director of Chinese Cultural Center in Nepal Yin Kunsong, President of Chinese Enterprise Association Yuan Zhixiong, President of Nepal Branch of Xinhua News Agency Zhou Shengping, President of Chinese Cultural Education Association in Nepal Halish, President of Arniko Society Dr. Sarbottam, Vice President of Kathmandu University Bora Thapa, Dean of Music Department Lao Chen, principals of Confucius Institutes and teaching sites of Chinese teaching institutions, Chinese teachers, players and cheerleaders.

It brought together players from all walks of life in Nepal who loved Chinese language and music. After fierce competition in the preliminaries, the top 12 successfully entered the final. The players sang the classic Chinese song into the hearts of the audience with their beautiful voices and clear and accurate Chinese pronunciation. With ample emotion, professional singing and solid Chinese language skills, Lele, the student from the School of Management of Kathmandu University, won the championship by the song Where has the Time Gone.

After editing, it would be broadcast on the National Television of Nepal. Through TV programs, the Chinese music would go deep among the broad audiences in Nepal, and the Chinese and Nepalese culture would be integrated with the sound of music. Besides, the bridge between Chinese and Nepalese culture would be built to express emotions and communicate with hearts, thus promoting the development of Chinese language education.
