In order to effectively promote the characteristic construction and sustainable development of the Confucius Institute at Kathmandu University, Nepal, and to implement school’s strategic concept of running school openly, on the morning of April 2, 2021, the Department of International Exchange and Cooperation held the Forum of Establishment and Development of the Confucius Institute at Kathmandu University in Nepal. Prof. Shang Liwei, Director of the Office of Foreign Affirs, Prof. Zhang Xiying and Ms. Liu Ye, Deputy Directors of the Office, and Prof. Dr. Wang Shengli, Chinese Director of the Confucius Institute at Kathmandu University in Nepal, attended the meeting.

At the meeting, participants made plans and suggestions about the development of the Confucius Institute after its transfer and the upcoming Confucius Institute Council. Through in-depth discussions, it was preliminarily determined to actively promote the development of new cooperation projects based on the Confucius Institute at Kathmandu University in Nepal and guided by the needs of local talent training and development.

It can provide good opportunities and effective ways for our school’s foreign cooperation and exchanges. We should give full play to its role as a platform and window, continuously deepen cooperation, innovate and develop, and make new achievements for the expansion of our school’s overseas influence.
