2023 Board Meeting of the Confucius Institute at the University of Zambia(CI UNZA) was held on May 10th at our university. Prof.Dr. Huang Sheng, President of our University; Prof. Dr. Anne Lungowe Sikwibele, Co-Chairwoman of the Board and Acting Vice Chancellor of the University of Zambia; Prof. Dr. Li Guijun, Co-Chairman of the Board and Vice President of our University; Mr. Liu Jiangyi, a member of the Board and Vice Director of the International Cooperation and Exchange Office of Hebei Education Department, and other foreign and Chinese members attended the meeting.
Prof. Dr. Huang Sheng, Prof. Dr. Anne Lungowe Sikwibele, Prof. Dr. Li Guijun and Mr. Liu Jiangyi commented on the performance of CI UNZA and shared their views on the future develepoment of CI UNZA. Prof. Dr. David Sani Mwanza, Foreign Director of CI UNZA, and Dr. Norman Kamanga, Chief Accountant of the University of Zambia, reported the CI UNZA operations and financial performance in 2022 and the proposed CI UNZA work plan and budget for 2023 respectively, which were reviewed by the Board members. The two sides reached consensus after exchanging views on the sustainable development of the Confucius Institute.
After the meeting, Prof. Dr. Anne L. Sikwibele and Prof. Dr. Li Guijun signed the “Agreement on Establishment of International Joint Laboratory on Sustainable Energy Infrastructure” on behalf of the two universities.
